Victory V at the Felbrigg Estate

The Victory V, Felbrigg Estate

See & Do

  • Felbrigg lake is only a 15 minute walk along the Weavers’ Way. A further 15 minutes on brings you to Felbrigg Hall, a National Trust owned Stuart house with an orangery, walled garden, walks and magnificent woods. You can enjoy lunch or tea in the old stables, a tour inside the hall, listen to open air opera or attend one of the many events regularly held there.
  • The Weavers’ Way. This long distance path from Cromer to Yarmouth passes through Common Farm and runs alongside the meadow.
  • Just a short walk from the Pavilion you will also find Felbrigg Beauty Lodge and Swimming Pool, a peaceful woodland retreat. The Beauty Lodge offers massages, facials, manicures and other holistic treatments. Beside it, the North Norfolk Swimming Pool & Spa can be hired for private use by up to eight people, with a heated indoor pool, hot tub and infrared sauna. It is a lovely treat after a day of walking or cycling.

  • 10 minutes by car gets you to the nearest sandy beach at West Runton from where you can walk to Cromer (25 minutes) and reward yourself with a cup of tea at the end of the pier. On the way back you will be following in the footsteps of the 4 metre high mammoth which was dug up in 1995 after it died here 600,000 years ago. In August the Red Arrows perform over the pier, and there is a fantastic firework display on New Year’s day.

  • Holt is a pretty Georgian town and is 20 minutes by car. Here you will find smart cafes, galleries, restaurants and shops. Try Larners Food Store, the ‘Fortnum and Mason of the east’.
  • On the way to Holt, the National Trust walks at Sheringham Park are spectacular in May when the rhododendrons are in bloom.

  • Blickling Hall is 20 minutes by car to the south. Home to the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn, this magnificent Jacobean Hall contains fine tapestries, paintings and rare books. It is surrounded by parkland, lakeside walks and a sunken garden. Outdoor concerts and firework displays are held in this spectacular setting.
  • The quiet flattish country lanes around Gresham are ideal for cycling, but remember to take a good map!
  • Cromer Regal Cinema, is 10 minutes away and shows current releases and Cromer library has an excellent selection of DVDs.
  • Supermarkets nearby are Sainsburys, Morrisons and Lidl in Cromer and Tesco in Sheringham.
